" I see every challenge as an opportunity to learn, connect, and make a difference. My experiences have shown me the value of working alongside others to address the social and environmental issues that matter most. The Millennium Fellowship will give me the space to combine my passion for problem solving with my technical background, turning ideas into actions that support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. I look forward to gaining new perspectives, building meaningful collaborations, and creating solutions that have a real impact on communities. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Care Through Meals

The purpose of the project 'Care through Meals' is to provide nutritious meals for widowed elderly residents in care facilities. In our local community, widowed elderly people are one of the most vulnerable groups who are often deprived of the basic right of having nutritious meals and often receive minimal care and diet from social support system. So we intend to provide them with healthy meals and give them strength as well as sense of care. We intend to raise awareness through social media about the challenges of the widowed elderly people in care facilities and collect funds through our donation website to continue arranging healthy meals for the widowed elderly community. The project aligns with SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 11 ( Sustainable Cities and Communities). We intend to distribute at least 200+ healthy meals to widowed elderly people of care facilities. We intend to be launching our donation website to collect funds in October and continue serving the community. We intend to raise BDT 50,000+ to start providing healthy meals to the community starting from October. We will be using social media to reach people and spread awareness about the challenges faced by widowed elderly people in care facilities in terms of nutrition and care. We intend to further our cause with the social impact video tour to reach 500+ views and spread awareness. We are collaborating with a local foundation to involve 15+ student volunteers passionate about social work in the planning and delivery process. We specifically intend to make the caretakers of the care facilities aware of the importance of healthy meals on the well-being of the widowed elderly.
