" My passion for sustainability, justice, and human rights drives everything I do. Through initiatives like Natgrove and my leadership at BRAC University Marketing Association, I aim to create meaningful change for both people and the planet. The Millennium Fellowship excites me as it will allow me to amplify my impact, collaborate with like-minded peers, and align my efforts more closely with the UN Sustainable Development Goals." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: FarmCorp

FarmCorp is an innovative agri-tech project led by Ruhi Afroze. Rooted in the belief that food is a basic right for all human beings, the project addresses one of the pressing challenges in Bangladesh—a developing country where food prices are disproportionately high due to large-scale wastage. FarmCorp leverages IoT sensors, AI, and a SaaS platform to reduce crop loss and detect soil and crop-related problems early on, ultimately making food more accessible and affordable. This project holds even greater importance for people in Bangladesh than Ruhi’s previous initiative, Natgrove, which focused on sustainability through tracking carbon footprints. FarmCorp directly aligns with human rights, equality, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals by empowering farmers with real-time data, fostering sustainable agricultural practices, and reducing inequalities in access to food. During the Millennium Fellowship period (August–December 2025), FarmCorp aims to conduct at least three pilot implementations with local farmers, measure reductions in crop loss by at least 15%, and engage over 200 stakeholders—including students, agricultural experts, and farming communities—in awareness workshops. Through these efforts, FarmCorp seeks to ensure that technology becomes a powerful driver of justice and sustainability in the fight against hunger.
