Millennium Fellowship Project: Esscre
Esscre is an innovative platform, precisely a creative tech project based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is one of the pioneering platforms created for recognizing art and artists from this nation. It thrives upon the intrinsic human chase for creativity. Esscre also strives to democratize art and curate creativity for everyone, making it accessible. This is because most artistic talent in this country goes unrecognized and undervalued. Esscre aims to be a transformative force that propels artists into the limelight they and their works deserve, ensuring they own all the appreciation, exposure, and credit in the world. It is our mission to create an ecosystem (a one stop hub for talents) in which creativity flourishes and becomes a sustainable livelihood, overcoming numerous challenges faced by artists. Our vision is digitizing the world of art in Bangladesh and creating an incubators for artists. We aspire to become the platform for artists in gaining their recognition and the audience they deserve in such an environment supporting and valuing artistic expression. This innovative, multifaceted approach of Esscre is pertinent to the core issues that artists face in Bangladesh, making art not only a viable but a celebrated profession.
About the Millennium Fellow
Tabassum Hasnat is a Bangladeshi freelance content and creative writer whose work spans short-form fiction, poetry, and prose. With stories featured across international platforms including Amazon, Kindle, Google Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, and Notion Press, she has also co-authored multiple anthologies and book compilations. Currently, Tabassum serves as the Head of Content and Creative at Esscre, an arts organization committed to curating impactful storytelling, nurturing young artistic voices, and bridging art with social consciousness. Her role reflects her deeper mission: to create narratives that inspire empathy, ignite dialogue, and preserve cultural identity through diverse creative mediums. A full-time law student by day and an ardent storyteller by night, she is driven by the belief that words—when shaped with honesty and imagination—can transcend boundaries and spark meaningful change.
