" “I do this work because I've seen how access to technology can open doors and change lives. I'm excited for the Millennium Fellowship because it means learning alongside people who care as deeply as I do, sharing ideas, and turning them into projects that make STEM education welcoming and possible for everyone.” "
Millennium Fellowship Project: MoodMirror
MoodMirror is a phone app that helps you keep track of how you’re feeling over time. You can take a short video or just talk to it like a voice journal, and it quietly picks up on things like if you sound tired, stressed, or unusually down. It also notices small changes in your face, like if you’re faking a smile or seem low on energy. The idea is to help you understand your mood better, especially if you’re going through a tough time but can’t always put it into words. It will gently check in, offer quick ways to feel better like breathing exercises or journal prompts, and if it notices a pattern of feeling really low, it suggests reaching out to someone or shows you where to get help. It’s private and you control what it sees or hears (I’ll add in a privacy policy). You can use it daily or just when you feel like checking in, although my goal would be to make it a daily check in. It’s built for people who might not have easy access to mental health support or just want a private way to understand their emotions better.
