" I'm excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it means joining a community of young people eager to make a difference, while working to address a pressing issue in my community. My desire to continue becoming a leader in advancing equitable and sustainable development is driven by a genuine love for people and a desire to see everyone equipped with what they need to live and build their best lives. I am passionate about engaging with communities and learning from their own initiatives for growth and development. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Policy for Food Waste Diversion
This project looks to address food insecurity and food waste in Providence, Rhode Island, through a policy proposal to amend a current food waste policy and add a mandatory, tiered food diversion program to local food banks. This would mandate that supermarkets and restaurants donate the food that they would otherwise waste to food distribution organizations.
