I do this work because I believe every voice deserves to be heard, and I am committed to building systems that uplift underserved communities. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Building Sustainable and Equitable Urban Food Systems

Markets for the Many: Building Sustainable and Equitable Urban Food Systems examines how farmers' markets can advance food equity and sustainability in cities. The project addresses inequities in food access by analyzing how location, pricing, and vendor representation shape who benefits from local markets. Using Providence, Rhode Island, as a case study, it explores how markets can be designed as inclusive spaces that strengthen local economies and community resilience. By combining field research, spatial mapping, and interviews, the initiative aims to inform local policy and raise awareness about equitable urban food systems.
