Millennium Fellowship Project: Afya Yangu: A Guide to a Better Life

Afya Yangu is a peer-led wellness movement in Mwanza, Tanzania, focused on preventing hypertension and burnout among university students and recent graduates through four simple, trackable daily habits (10 PM screen curfew, 6+ hours sleep, 15 min movement, no extra salt) and free weekly 5KM runs along Lake Victoria Mwanza, Tanzania.

About the Millennium Fellow

Bryson Solomon is a dedicated medical student at the CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH AND ALLIED SCIENCES-BUGANDO in Tanzania, passionate about community medicine, public health, and the One Health approach. Born and raised in Arusha and Mbeya regions, he actively engages in initiatives promoting safe water, antimicrobial resistance awareness, and human animal environment health. Bryson has participated in multiple community outreach programs, CUHAS scientific conferences, and One health workforce mapping survey to promote intersectoral collaborations in Mwanza, reflecting his commitment to improving population health. His leadership and academic dedication position him to contribute meaningfully toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in health and environmental sustainability.
