" “I am thrilled to be a Millennium Fellow because it gives me the chance to learn, lead, and turn knowledge into meaningful change for my community. I hope to collaborate with diverse change makers, expand my leadership, and translate ideas into tangible, sustainable action.” "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Sanity Surge
Sanity Surge is a project that aims to advocate for mental health awareness. The project is based on the fact that optimism and having the correct knowledge on mental wellbeing is the solution to some common mental health issues. It involves reaching out to different institutions and the public mass in the local area. This includes online and physical events at different times to emphasise the importance of good mental health instead of one-time events that give room for people to forget and incorporate the already existing false information in the society. Sanity surge is more focused on educational institutions as this is where a lot of educated people are. This is because in Tanzania, it is easier for people to listen to educated people thus making the process of spreading mental health information to the whole country a lot more quicker and easier.
