" My commitment to human rights, peacebuilding, and social justice stems from witnessing inequality and conflict in my community. I believe the Millennium Fellowship will amplify my ability to transform this passion into impactful action aligned with the UNAI principles and SDGs. By collaborating with like-minded change makers, I aim to strengthen my leadership, expand my advocacy reach, and develop sustainable solutions that ensure fundamental rights and peace for marginalized communities in Pakistan and beyond. Millennium Fellowship Project: Mooting Justice: Youth & Fundamental Rights
Fundamental Rights Awareness: Mooting Justice for a New Generation
This project aims to promote awareness of fundamental rights among youth in Multan, Punjab, through interactive legal education activities held at Gillani Law College, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan. Many students lack practical exposure to constitutional rights and justice mechanisms; this initiative seeks to bridge that gap using engaging and accessible methods.
The project will organize fundamental rights awareness sessions on the constitutional protections guaranteed to every citizen of Pakistan. These sessions will be followed by beginner-friendly moot court simulations, allowing students to apply legal principles in realistic scenarios. Participants will also receive mentorship in legal research, drafting arguments, and developing public speaking and advocacy skills.
By combining rights education with practical mooting, the project aims to empower students in Multan to understand, claim, and advocate for their rights. The ultimate goal is to nurture a generation of informed, confident, and justice-oriented young leaders who support the rule of law and peaceful dispute resolution in their communities.
