" I'm very excited about being part of the Millennium Fellowship program because it will give me an opportunity for knowledge acquisition and growth, as I endeavor to advance my passion for health. I highly believe success at personal, community, national and global level depends on good health for people, and to achieve this, I believe empowering people in communities with knowledge about healthy behavior and practices is the critical foundation of it all. I'm therefore excited about this opportunity because it will give me the opportunity to interact with different like-minded fellows from different walks of life and learn from them, and most importantly be able to gain mentorship from great people and tap into their experiences and insights which will help to strengthen my ability to contribute significantly to the realization of the sustainable development goals, especially SDG 3. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: MentWell

The Copperbelt University Millennium Fellowship class of 2025 did
a group project called MentWell. A student-Led project addressing mental health challenges among medical students at Copperbelt University. Recognizing the high academic pressure and the stress
associated with failing tests (which often leads to part-time status), the project created safe spaces for dialogue, peer support and shared
coping strategies. Through interactive sessions and peer to peer
engagement, MentWell directly reached over 100 students,
fostering resilience and promoting mental wellbeing during exam periods.
