CETYS Universidad Tijuana | Tijuana, Mexico | Advancing SDG 4, SDG 10 & UNAI 8

" Innovation is one of my main interests. I believe we can develop new business models that contribute to the ongoing growth and transformation of my city. I have worked before with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in my city, and I am excited to continue creating a better community. I am confident that the Millennium Fellowship Program can equip me with the skills, network, and perspective needed to drive meaningful change for both my city and its people. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Punto Cafe X Teaching for Success
Teaching for Success x Punto Café is an educational and social initiative in Tijuana that prepares migrants and refugees for dignified, sustainable livelihoods. The problem: people in mobility face barriers—language, documentation gaps, limited networks—that block access to stable work. Our goals are to provide clear orientation, practical tools, and real job opportunities through a barista and employability academy. We teach specialty coffee, customer service, basic digital skills, and workplace Spanish, paired with mentorship, certifications, and job placement with allied cafés. Impact is created by increasing income stability, accelerating local integration, and strengthening employer pipelines. Success will be measured through course completion, placement within 90 days, retention at six months, and participant well-being scores, while building bridges between host communities and people on the move.
