Millennium Fellowship Project: StoP Schau Hin
StoP Schau Hin is a cooperative campaign with the organization "StoP - Stadtteile ohne Partnergewalt". "StoP" is a non-profit organization focused on community-led prevention of intimate partner violence (IPV). The campaign targets viennese neighbourhoods and aims at reducing Gender-based and Intimate Partner Violence (IPV/GBV) through grassroots awareness and education.
The immediate outputs of the campaign are an Instagram account that provides education and tips for civil courage. Additionally, stickers with QR-Codes leading to the civil courage tips are distributed throughout Vienna. This raises awareness and spreads visibility around intimate partner and gender-based violence, helping to normalize the topic within public discourse. Simultaneously the use of the digital space overcomes common time-, attention-, and monetary barriers of the target group, which are the diverse Viennese communities. Moreover, an intersectional approach is central to the campaign. By using easy language throughout the written parts of the campaign, people with disabilities and people whose first language is not german, are able to access information equally. This enhances inclusivity and ensures that critical information about GBV/IPV reaches a wide audience. Within the educational part of the campaign, intersectionality will also be addressed through information posts on GBV/IPV on inter alia women with disabilities. The campaign lasts for two months. Its tangible goals include the output of 6 Civil Courage Tips and 8 Information-Posts, 400+ stickers in 8+ districts, and 100 followers on Instagram. The goal remains to spread awareness about GBV/IPV and to foster communities that are informed, resilient and show civil courage in the face of GBV/IPV
