" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it allows me to channel my passion for data and problem-solving into creating tangible social impact, while learning from a global community committed to driving positive change. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: FloodSafe: AI for Climate Resilience

My project, “FloodSafe: AI for Climate Resilience,” is about using data and technology to help communities deal with floods. Growing up in Mumbai, I have seen how devastating floods can be, especially for people who don’t have the resources to recover quickly. So, I am working on building a tool that uses AI to predict where and when floods might happen. The idea is to give local governments and NGOs better information so they can plan ahead, build stronger infrastructure, and respond faster during emergencies. Right now, I am testing the tool with real data and working with my university and local groups to make sure it is practical and actually helps people. It is not just about the tech—it is about making a real difference for communities that are hit hardest by climate change. My hope is that this tool can save lives, protect homes, and make people’s lives a little easier when disasters strike.
