"
Millennium Fellowship Project: TechBridge: Bridging Youth to Future-Ready Skills
TechBridge Communities is a social impact initiative aimed at bridging the opportunity gap for underprivileged youth in Bengaluru. Working in collaboration with the NGO Makkala Jagriti, the project delivered a 12-week intensive "Future Leaders Programme" to empower students from low-income backgrounds.
While the initiative was rooted in the goal of accessibility, the curriculum was adapted to meet the students' most immediate critical needs: career readiness, communication skills, and self-confidence. Over the course of the Fellowship, we conducted approximately 250 hours of interactive workshops covering public speaking, resume building, interview preparation, and emotional well-being.
Key activities included:
Skill Development: Facilitating hands-on sessions where students practiced mock interviews and drafted professional resumes.
Confidence Building: Using gamified learning and "safe space" discussions to help shy students overcome their fear of public speaking.
Resource Creation: Developing a comprehensive Career Guidance Handbook to serve as a sustainable, long-term resource for the community.
The project successfully transformed a cohort of hesitant participants into confident young leaders, equipping them with the practical tools and emotional resilience needed to secure future opportunities and break the cycle of inequality.
