UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT RAKESH KALRA, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2025.
Christ (Deemed to be University) Delhi NCR Campus | Ghaziabad, India | Advancing SDG 1 & UNAI 3

" I'm thrilled to be a part of the Millennium Fellowship because it's an opportunity to translate my love for sustainability into action. As a student of fintech, I believe so much in the potential for using technology to address environmental issues, yet I realize I cannot do it by myself. This fellowship provides me the chance to work with fellow students who are equally motivated to contribute to change. What gets me most excited is that we're not merely discussing change—we're actually making it happen on our campus and within our community. The prospect of collaborating with students from across the globe while working on the UN's Sustainable Development Goals is like being in the right place at the right time. It's about constructing the future I want to be a part of, project by project. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Integrated Youth-Centered Sustainability Frameworks
This project is a record of my sustainability efforts with Let's Give Hope Foundation, which is a non-governmental organization located in India and recognized for the provision of assistance to underprivileged children. It was over a period of several months that I was able to teach 35 children the basic academic subjects while at the same time introducing them to environmental awareness through activities that were simple and practical. The program encompassed classroom teaching, outdoor learning, tree planting initiatives, and community engagement. Moreover, the children became aware of nature care, planted 127 saplings, and got their connection to the environment a little bit stronger. The project is proof that the merging of quality education and environmental responsibility can lead to a significant transformation in the young lives and the community getting greener
About the Millennium Fellow
Rakesh Kalra is a second-year BBA Fintech student at Christ University Delhi NCR with an inclination towards sustainability. He's interested in how financial technology has the potential to influence environmental change through green financing and sustainable investment products. Rakesh feels business success and environmental sustainability should complement, not conflict.
Outside of his studies, he proactively looks into how new technologies can solve for climate issues. It might be blockchain for carbon accounting or ESG investing standards, but he views fintech as an influential force for good environmental change. He aims to create a career at the intersection of finance and technology, developing solutions that serve both companies and our planet.
