" My passion for mental health advocacy stems from a deep belief that every voice matters and no one should feel alone in their struggles. The Millennium Fellowship offers the platform and global network to transform this belief into tangible action. Through the Fellowship, I aim to strengthen my leadership, expand the reach of my project ‘Open Circle,’ and align my work with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to create lasting, human-centered impact. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: SKILL UP:FUTURE READY STUDENTS
Skill Up: Future-Ready Students is an initiative aimed at strengthening foundational learning among government school children. The project focuses on building general knowledge, improving English exposure, and developing essential life skills through interactive teaching sessions. We covered topics such as days of the week, seasons, weather, community helpers, transport, hygiene, and basic geography to enhance students’ understanding of the world around them.
About the Millennium Fellow
Vedica Fogat is a brave, passionate, and people-centric psychology student at Christ (Deemed to be University), Yeshwanthpur. Born in Noida and currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Bangalore, she is driven by a desire to step out of her comfort zone, embrace new experiences, and support those in need. Her upbringing in a male-dominated cultural setting strengthened her resolve to challenge norms and lead change. A natural leader, she has served as Class Representative, Sports Representative, and Women’s Football Team Captain. She also founded Open Circle, a safe space for students to share their thoughts without fear of judgment, reflecting her deep commitment to mental health advocacy. Vedica sees this Millennium Fellowship as an opportunity to strengthen her lifelong passion for understanding people, championing human rights, and making a meaningful impact.
