Millennium Fellowship Project: HEALING BEGINS WITH AWARENESS.
Inform people of what mental is to the importance of mental help and effects of not seeking treatment at an early. The project main aim is to prevent the increasing numbers of mental issues by making sure people know what they are dealing with. My main focus is on the teenages and youth because they are the largest population in my country and have the increased of mental health problems.
About the Millennium Fellow
Heddy Brant Akinyi is currently a passionate psychology student , studying at chuka university a university located in Tharaka nithi county one hour drive from Nairobi the capital city on kenya. She is looking fora world where people will not be afraid on talking of their mental health and know that it's okay not to be okay. This passion came to her realization back in high school as she studied in a small school in Kisumu county kenya. It's has been realize that mostly men suffer from this since they are concerned strong,she believes that can change when the community is made aware of what mental health is and how we can prevent it while it's still at the earliest stage.
