" I'm truly passionate about empowering young people who face challenges because of limited opportunities. I believe that with the right support, mentorship, and resources, they can surpass all expectations. I've come this far because others believed in my potential and dreams, and now I'm committed to providing that same encouragement and support to others. Being a Millennium Fellow excites me because it provides a powerful platform to expand this mission and drive meaningful change in communities throughout Nigeria and beyond. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Bit by Bit

That was my reaction after being invited by the Enactus Covenant University team to talk about consistency at Enactus Insider this year. I wanted to address the phrase "I have worked." after the last few months of collaborations and engagements. The phrase "work" has always brought me inner amusement, as its scientific definition offers a fascinating perspective. Work is said to be done when a force (effort) moves an object (task) through a distance (result). Thus, I have always reflected at the end of each day to evaluate my results. But what happens when a significant amount of effort yields no result? In science, we differentiate between two types of loading: static and dynamic. Static loading involves the singular application of a significant amount of effort in order to overcome resistance. On the other hand, dynamic loading is about the continuous application of "inconsequential" efforts applied over time. Less dramatic, but dynamic loading is more challenging to manage as it gradually weakens resistance until only minimal effort is needed to achieve significant breakthroughs (results/momentum). Sometimes, its necessary to maintain consistent effort in any task before you can truly claim to have worked. After all, what is work without its results?
