Millennium Fellowship Project: Sustainable Agribusiness for Rural Livelihoods
The Sustainable Agribusiness Empowerment for Rural Livelihoods (SAERL) project is an initiative designed to empower smallholder farmers, rural youth, and women through sustainable agribusiness practices. The project aims to enhance food security, create employment opportunities, and improve household incomes in rural communities.
SAERL focuses on building the capacity of local farmers through training in climate-smart agriculture, modern farming technologies, value addition, and agribusiness management. It also promotes access to quality inputs, financial services, and reliable markets, enabling participants to move from subsistence farming to profitable and sustainable agribusiness ventures.
By fostering innovation, environmental stewardship, and inclusive participation, SAERL seeks to transform rural livelihoods, reduce poverty, and contribute to sustainable economic growth. The project envisions vibrant rural communities where agriculture is not just a means of survival, but a driver of empowerment and prosperity.
