Millennium Fellowship Project: Petafarm
Pioneering in development and implementation of modern smart scalable climate-resilient agricultural systems that are not dependent on unreliable rainfall, and providing economic solutions to develop communities using these systems. We are implementing enhanced climate-resilient technologies, such as hydroponics and vertical farming, to enable the affordable mass production of nutritious food independent of unpredictable weather by 2030. Walter Kaniaru, born in Kenya, Africa, is a young and passionate student at The Cooperative University of Kenya, pursuing a Bachelor of Human Resource Management. Fueled by a profound commitment to community development, equity and environmental conservation, which stems from emerging problems in his community, he actively channels his energy into impactful sustainable development projects. Walter's enthusiastic involvement in global sustainability competitions showcases his dedication to creating tangible change. He eagerly aspires to forge a professional path where he can champion these vital causes, uplifting his community, mentoring young generations, promoting sustainable practices and protecting our planet for future generations.
