Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University | Sonipat, India | Advancing SDG 4 & UNAI 3

" Embracing one's innate kindness - their humanness, is the starting point of lasting change. Change for the better of this world we call ours; for our people. This begins at the intersection of empathy, knowledge, and cardinally, taking action. Being a Millennium Fellow offers a space to commit to transforming conviction into collective impact—an opportunity to stand alongside others equally committed to advancing dignity, equality, and justice. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Jan Chetna
We, the Fellowship Cohort of the class of 2025, from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University have decided on a common project considering India's upcoming Independence Day on the 15th of August. Our college is based in a rural area which has a school in the nearby village. Our aim is to execute our project in a three-pronged approach: 1. We aim to create a "Adhikaar Diwar" or a Rights Wall in the School. This wall, will feature numerous well-researched and curated topical pamphlets on areas such as Basic Legal rights, women's hygiene, topics of civic awareness etc. 2. For eight weeks, on thursdays (Adhikaar Guruvaar) the eight members of the cohort will individually share a topic closest to their heart with the students and members of the local community. At the end of each session, we will hold a short feedback round to accurately assess our impact while the project is ongoing and address relevant lacunae, if any in our communication. 3. Later, we aim to conclude using a short quiz on all the topics that we cover during those eight weeks, (Pamphlets of which will be on the "Adhikaar Diwar" wall in English and Hindi). We will then proceed with a short felicitation ceremony for the winners of the quiz.
About the Millennium Fellow
Aparna Tripathi is a law student at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University whose work and worldview are shaped by a deep awareness of systemic injustice. From an early age, she has sought to translate empathy into action, believing that dignity and equality are not abstract ideals but everyday commitments. Her leadership is rooted in listening and creating spaces where marginalized voices are not just heard, but valued. Drawn to the law for its power to both uphold and challenge societal structures, Aparna envisions using legal advocacy as a tool for education, dialogue, and lasting social transformation rooted in human connection. Aparna’s vision is one of transformation through education, dialogue, and sustained community engagement—driven by the conviction that justice begins with human connection and the courage to challenge entrenched inequalities.
