United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: E-Waste Awareness Campaign

The project aims at raising basic awareness to e waste management. This is because e waste pollution is a major problem in my community and African where i come from.I personally believe that through my efforts to raise awareness on the issue to a younger audience will play a big role in changing the future of e waste disposal in my community and region.

About the Millennium Fellow

Nixon Kiprop Talam is a bright, competitive, and dedicated student of Geomatics Engineering and Geospatial Information Systems at Dedan Kimathi University of Science and Technology. Born in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, and currently residing in Nyeri, he has a strong passion for leadership, peacebuilding, and student engagement. Through his involvement with Grassroots Impact Advisors, he has led impactful projects fostering coexistence and collaboration. As he advances in his career, Talam aspires to contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through innovation and community-driven initiatives.
