" The Millennium Fellowship will greatly improve my skills and knowledge. It offers a great platform where I get to learn and network with like-minded people and collaborate with them even in the future. It also creates an impact on society, which is one of the main things I like doing. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: E-waste Management
This project focuses on raising awareness about the growing global crisis of electronic waste (e-waste) and its environmental, health, and social impacts. Using a presentation delivered to the community, the project aims to educate students on the hidden dangers of improper electronic disposal, highlight the toxic materials found in everyday devices, and expose the human cost borne by communities involved in informal e-waste processing.
The project emphasizes the connection between responsible consumption and disposal. It outlines practical solutions including repairing and extending device life, donating or reusing functioning electronics, and recycling through certified facilities.
The initiative directly supports multiple Sustainable Development Goals — particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). By cultivating awareness and promoting responsible behavior among students, the project aims to reduce harmful waste practices, promote environmental justice, and inspire long-term sustainable habits within the school community.
