" “I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it gives me the opportunity to channel my empathy into action, amplify the voices of persons with disabilities, and work towards building a world where kindness and inclusivity are not exceptions, but everyday realities.” "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Tarini
Our project aims to create awareness about and address the challenges that are faced by people with special needs. What started off as an intention to do something for this cause has blossomed into a full fledged project, which through its course, would work towards bringing an actual change in the lives of differently abled people. Our primary goal is to make them feel seen, heard and represented and we hope to achieve this through sensitisation sessions which also target people who don’t have disabilities so they develop an understanding of the struggles that disabled people face. In addition to these sessions, we will work for our target audience by providing them education and imparting to them skills that are necessary to acquire jobs and sustain them. We look forward to becoming a small part in their journey to be successful by providing vocational training and skill-building programs to prepare them for job interviews, ensuring they also have the tools to succeed. This project is about more than just support—it’s about empowerment, dignity, and creating a future where disability is never a barrier to success.
