" As a Millennium Fellow, I aspire to channel my efforts toward creating meaningful social impact through a more structured approach. The fellowship will provide me with the guidance and mentorship needed to refine my initiatives, ensuring they are better planned and effectively executed. This platform will not only help me grow as a changemaker but also amplify the reach and sustainability of my work. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Arth
Arth' in literal terms means purpose or prosperity. Project Arth aim to educate people about managing money in daily lives. We help children(primarily 9th-12th class) and women understand basic finance, ultimately leading to financial literacy. For younger children it can be as simple as saving money and its judicious use while for some who have decent enough idea of share market we help them understand basics of investment. So,our project is a financial literacy initiative aimed at empowering individuals. Our team plans & conducts sessions on topics like budgeting, saving, understanding interest rates, managing loans and making informed financial decisions. The way of conducting these sessions mainly depends on setting we are in. Sometimes, we use tech support like projectors if we are doing so in schools, or we simply make the session fun and interactive through games & activities. We focus on students to help them develop good financial habits early and work with young women to empower them with tools and confidence to manage their finances independently. As an economics student, I try to bridge gap between my knowledge and financial illiteracy among the societal groups stated above.
