Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Ruhaniyat
Founded in 2024 by students of Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Project Ruhaniyat is a youth-led initiative committed to improving menstrual health awareness, accessibility, and dignity for individuals in under-resourced communities. The project was born out of both personal reflection and community needs, with the core belief that menstruation should never be a barrier to health, education, or self-worth.
We began our journey in collaboration with the Pinkishe Foundation, a well-established NGO dedicated to menstrual hygiene and women's empowerment, to implement educational workshops and distribute sustainable menstrual hygiene products in low-income areas across Delhi NCR. Currently, we are also working with the Raise India Foundation to expand our outreach and strengthen our impact in communities across India.
Vision:
To create a society where menstruation is normalized, stigma-free, and no individual is deprived of opportunities due to lack of menstrual health awareness or resources.
Mission:
1. To break taboos and dismantle stigma surrounding menstruation through education, dialogue, and community engagement.
2. To provide underprivileged communities with sustainable access to menstrual products and resources.
3. To collaborate with organizations like Pinkishe Foundation and Raise India Foundation in fostering inclusivity, awareness, and health equity.
4. To empower individuals, especially women and girls to embrace their bodies with confidence and dignity.
About the Millennium Fellow
Ruhi Ahuja is an ambitious, empathetic and a driven person.
She studies political science at one of the top colleges in her country, and wants to make a difference in the field of education and public policy.
She has previously worked with children in orphanages and wants to help get them a proper education.
