Millennium Fellowship Project: Project ConnectED
Project ConnectED is an initiative dedicated to bridging the digital divide by providing affordable, accessible and sustainable internet connectivity to the next billion users, specifically targeting low and middle-income families in India's Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. By establishing collaborative partnerships with local Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and implementing community-based shared affordability models, the project aims to empower underserved communities with essential digital literacy and access to information, thereby supporting SDG 9 (Infrastructure) and SDG 4 (Education).
About the Millennium Fellow
Yashika Mittal is an aspiring product designer driven by a passion for creating impactful, human-centered solutions that contribute to social good. Currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Design in India, she has engaged in projects that focus on accessibility, inclusivity and improving quality of life through thoughtful experiences. Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Yashika aims to bridge gaps between technology and underserved communities, using technology as a tool for empowerment and equity. She envisions a career where creativity meets purpose, shaping experiences that make a lasting difference in people’s lives.
