" “I do this work because I believe education is the most powerful tool to break cycles of inequality, and as a Millennium Fellow, I am excited to amplify my voice, connect with change makers, and turn advocacy into lasting, systemic change.” "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Gender Equality Is Not Opportunity Its Included In Basic Rights
The SDG 5: Gender Equality Social Impact Tour is an empowerment initiative designed to support young women in Pakistan by building their confidence, leadership skills, and awareness of their rights. Through interactive workshops, peer discussion circles, and awareness sessions on domestic violence and emotional abuse, the project creates safe spaces where young women can openly share experiences, develop communication skills, and learn how to protect themselves.
The tour also highlights real-life stories of transformation—participants taking leadership roles, speaking up against abuse, and inspiring other girls in their communities. By combining training, mentorship, and social media outreach, the project strengthens young women’s voices and encourages them to become confident, informed, and empowered leaders.
About the Millennium Fellow
Alishba Khan is a passionate advocate for women’s education and gender equality from Pakistan. She works to empower marginalized communities, including teaching literacy and life skills to children of sex workers—one of the most excluded groups in society. Through grassroots activism, community workshops, and awareness campaigns, she challenges cultural norms that limit women’s opportunities. Driven by a vision of an equitable world where gender does not define one’s potential, Alishba strives to influence policy, build sustainable programs, and promote inclusive education for all.
