The experience and learning I will get from Millennium Fellowship will make my creative impact on young minds and art communities align with SDGS. I am anticipating to influence minds to believe that their creativities should be known. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Make Your Creativity Known
"Make Your Creativity Known" is a project that will reinforce the ideas of creative work, encouraging young people to embrace their inner gifts and appreciate their self- worth through creativity. It's about owning the confidence of their emotions, feelings, and artistic sense as well as showcasing creative expression through visual art, writing, drawing, painting, photography etc . The project explores the impact, encouraging individuals to showcase their unique talents with a wider audience.
This project will be a safe space for youth to overcome the fear of criticism. It's about giving chances for numerous ideas to be celebrated, and implement change. The creativity in young people is what makes them who they are; standing out different from the rest.
About the Millennium Fellow
Michaela Tommy is a young, vibrant, and creative girl who attends Fourah Bay College, where she studies Political Science. At 19 years old, she is passionate about changing the mindset of young creatives. Born and raised in Sierra Leone. Michaela is driven by a vision to inspire and empower others. I have always believed that I am more than the systems and patterns of this world. If my Maker is able, then I am capable, capable of spreading my wings through unwavering gifts, skills, and compassion. To make young creatives believe that there is no limit towards there potential. I have been part of poetry projects that navigate their way through this change. Aiming to change the belief of poor mentality.
