United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Rural Health Empowerment and Awareness for Living
Rural Health Empowerment and Awareness for Living (RHEAL) is a community-based health initiative designed to promote preventive care, health literacy, and wellness among underserved rural populations. The project aims to strengthen access to health information and foster community-driven solutions that support healthy living and sustainable well-being.
Objectives:
To improve health awareness among rural populations through targeted education and engagement
To promote preventive health practices including hygiene, nutrition, and sanitation
To strengthen community participation in health advocacy and behavioral change
To empower young people to serve as agents of health promotion and community transformation
Implementation:
The project was implemented in two complementary phases — the physical(outreaches) and the virtual.(Pan African virtual conference)
Project RHEAL demonstrates the power of awareness and collaboration in improving rural health outcomes. It reflects a commitment to health equity, youth leadership, and sustainable community development. Through education, empathy, and engagement, RHEAL continues to inspire healthier communities and empower individuals to take ownership of their well-being.
About the Millennium Fellow
David Ikuomola is a positively ambitious impact maker. He studies Public Health Science at the prestigious Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo state, Nigeria. He was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He has always been a visionary individual committed to impacting his society, benevolently. He aims to improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities, using effective policy structures and involvement of advanced technology. David Ikuomola is currently a multi volunteer with diverse organizations committed to promoting the welfare of the masses, and amplifying the voices of minority.
