" As an engineer and educator, I am passionate about cultivating my teaching and leadership skills. I aim to, through the Millennium Fellowship, connect with like-minded educators, leaders, and professionals from all over the world to exchange ideas, learn best practices, and amplify the impact of education in my community. I believe this platform will enable me to sharpen my ability to design solutions that address real educational challenges while also giving me the opportunity to inspire and empower others. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: THE EDUCATALYST PROJECT
The EduCatalyst Project is an initiative of Boot Class, an academic platform founded in 2020 by Oyedokun Samuel to help students have a proper preparation for exams, and achieve superlative academic success. The EduCatalyst Project seeks to explore and demonstrate how education can act as a catalyst for personal success, societal growth and global transformation.
The Project targets high school students who are preparing for external exams (WAEC, NECO, GCE, UTME, and Post UTME) and preliminary (year and two) college (university) students with a special emphasis on first-generation students. Throughout the course of this project, students will have access to intensive tutorial sessions, marathon revision classes, academic mentorship, and community building opportunities to help shift their mindsets, improve academic outcomes, and expand opportunity.
BACKGROUND AND ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT Boot Class was established in 2020 with the mission to deliver focused, high-impact academic support to students across secondary and early university levels. Since inception, Boot Class has positioned itself as a driving force for academic excellence on the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) campus. The initiative has been recognised multiple times by university administration for its positive impact on the student community and has secured local partnerships to strengthen service delivery.
Today, Boot Class maintains a reputable digital and social presence, including a WhatsApp community of over 4,000 members, a Telegram channel (which serves as a repository for lecture notes and resources) with over 4,000 members, and active Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn channels for outreach and engagement.
Our weekend tutorials have provided students with consistent academic support, helping them prepare effectively for their examinations. Beyond these, our flagship event, the Marathon Revision Class (MRC), has emerged as a transformational academic event. The MRC offers students an intensive, multi-hour, exam-focused revision experience that not only sharpens their understanding of difficult subjects but also builds their stamina, confidence, and readiness to excel under exam pressure. The 4th edition of the MRC was held between 1st and 5th September, 2025, and the turnout was both impressive and inspiring. PROJECT OBJECTIVES
To help students achieve superlative academic success, and have a proper preparation for exams, we will:
1. Continue hosting structured tutorials and large-scale revision programs to strengthen students’ preparation for major examinations.
2. Organize conferences and webinars that bring together educators, mentors, and professionals to equip students with practical study strategies, career insights, and the right mindset for academic and personal success.
3. Reach out to local primary and secondary schools within and around Akure through talks, workshops, and mentorship sessions to inspire students—particularly first-generation learners—to see education as a catalyst for transformation and lifelong opportunities.
4. Provide access to well-curated lecture notes, past questions, and study materials to support self-paced learning. This will specifically target SSCE (WAEC, NECO, GCE), UTME/Post-UTME candidates, and first- and second-year university students.
5. Strengthen Boot Class’s online platforms to serve as a reliable academic support network where students can ask questions, connect with tutors, and seek guidance on exams, study challenges, and even career clarity.
6. Track, document, and share stories of students whose perspectives and academic performance were transformed through the EduCatalyst Project, highlighting education’s role as a true accelerator of lives.
