Millennium Fellowship Project: Hygiene for Better Health

Hygiene for Better Health is an independent health care initiative led by Millennium Fellowship Cohort A, Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna), under the Millennium Campus Network (MCN). The project is coordinated by Campus Directors Ghapharat Dunmininu Balogun and Muhammed Nimatullahi and addresses public health challenges by promoting proper personal and environmental hygiene practices, especially among young people and underserved communities. The project also emphasizes the importance of contributing to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the global need to achieve them by 2030.
During the Millennium Fellowship period (August–December 2025), the project engaged students and community members through interactive sessions, sensitization programs, small group discussions, and the distribution of hygiene information materials. These activities helped participants understand the link between hygiene, disease prevention, and broader sustainable development objectives.
Through these initiatives, the project aimed to reach and positively impact at least 100 individuals, empowering them with knowledge, healthy habits, and a sense of responsibility toward achieving the SDGs and fostering healthier, more sustainable communities.
