" "Creating a positive environment in any campus that I am in drives my goal for this initiative. I am excited to become a Millennium Fellow, connecting and collaborating with like-minded individuals who share the same goal: leaving campus a better place than we found it. I want to grow this initiative to other universities and have a lasting impact on campuses all across the world." "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Georgia Tech Neurodiversity Initiative

This project aims to create an inclusive campus where students with disabilities and neurotypical students can have equal experiences. Targeting students with disabilities, the initiative brought together more than 10 students on campus and established group chats to promote inclusivity, friendship, and peer support, fostering a more connected and welcoming campus environment.

About the Millennium Fellow

Harshin Vijay is a bright, young, and ambitious undergraduate at Georgia Tech. He is majoring in Neuroscience and has a passion for understanding how the brain works. In high school, he enjoyed his time as a peer buddy for students with learning disabilities and aimed to continue an initiative he had started in high school, which he later expanded to Georgia Tech. He leads The Georgia Tech Neurodiversity Initiative, a campus organization that builds community for neurodiverse students, mobilizes volunteers for underserved families of children with special needs, and partners with local groups to host awareness events and fundraise for autism research. His passion lies in creating communities of belonging and improving campus life. Drawing on experiences in student leadership and advocacy, Harshin organizes impact-driven ideas that better campus life. He aspires to scale these efforts across campuses, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals on health, education, and reduced inequalities.
