" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it is a chance to turn ideas into tangible impact alongside a global community of change makers. Most importantly, I do this work because I believe that meaningful change starts when passionate people come together to act on their values. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Freedom Forward: Human Trafficking Awareness & Action
The “Freedom Forward: Human Trafficking Awareness & Action” was initiated to raise awareness about human trafficking, educate the public, and support survivors through community engagement and advocacy. Inspired by my experiences with Physicians for Human Rights and mentorship from Dr. Leila Hassan, the project focused on empowering survivors and equipping the community with knowledge to combat exploitation. Our team designed and distributed over 3,000 informational brochures across more than 20 schools and hospitals, collaborating with human rights agencies, government officials, and trafficking shelters. The project combined compassionate engagement, strategic outreach, and education to address human trafficking holistically, while fostering leadership and growth-oriented mindsets among team members and volunteers.
