" My work is driven by a belief that financial systems can and should serve everyone, not just the few. I am excited to join the Millennium Fellowship to learn from peers who are equally committed to building inclusive, transparent, and resilient institutions. This community will challenge me to refine my ideas, deepen my cultural understanding, and create solutions that bridge policy, markets, and everyday lives. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Tessera
Tessera is an economic early-warning and insights platform that identifies emerging risks before they become systemic. It integrates real-time market data, geopolitical indicators, supply-chain signals, and climate-related stressors into a unified dashboard that highlights where instability is forming and why. By translating complex global shifts into clear, actionable insights, Tessera helps policymakers, investors, and community leaders anticipate disruptions, allocate resources more intelligently, and strengthen resilience in vulnerable regions. The goal is to make early detection accessible, understandable, and deployable so societies can react to economic shocks before they escalate.
About the Millennium Fellow
Shivani Murugapiran is an Industrial Engineering student at Georgia Tech whose curiosity has taken her from policy briefings in Brussels to bustling trading floors in New York. She spent a summer studying European defense and policy at the heart of the EU, and another in Shanghai developing a machine learning project on how political freedoms shape financial inclusion. Leading the Georgia Tech Finance Society and building on her time in Equity Capital Markets at Evercore, Shivani brings together her interests in global markets, culture, and policy to push for financial systems that are transparent, inclusive, and resilient.
