Griffith University | Brisbane, Australia | Advancing SDG 3, SDG 5 & UNAI 3

" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because I care deeply about creating a world where health and education are accessible to all, and the Millennium Fellowship gives me the opportunity to align that purpose with action. What excites me most is that the Fellowship is not only about developing myself as a leader, but also about learning how to translate vision into real impact that benefits communities. It will equip me with the tools and guidance I need to turn my goals into tangible progress and meaningful steps forward. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: The Women's Wellness Project
The Women's Wellness Project is led by Millennium Fellows Chinara Lau and Jenny Cheng to address gaps in women’s healthcare access and health literacy in socioeconomically disadvantaged communities across the Gold Coast. The initiative aims to improve access to essential products, including period products, maternal healthcare supplies, and nutritional support, while enhancing health literacy through partnerships with local healthcare charities and women’s health services. From August to December 2025, the team plans to host two fundraising events to raise $500 and directly assist at least 200 women. By alleviating barriers such as the cost and availability of basic health products and connecting women with trusted health services and educational resources, the project seeks to empower women to take charge of their health, improve overall wellbeing, and foster long-term community resilience.
