United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: SRHR & Drug Abuse Awareness among University Students

This campus advocacy project focused on raising awareness about sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender-based violence (GBV), and drug abuse to help reduce STIs, unintended pregnancies, and substance misuse. Targeting university students living in both boarding houses and halls of residence, the project collaborated with O3Plus UNESCO to conduct health expos, physical workshops, and online dialogues, providing students with education, resources, and opportunities to engage in conversations on these critical issues.

About the Millennium Fellow

Leeroy C Masunda is a young man aged 22 born in Gweru, Zimbabwe.He went to Stanley Primary school in Gweru from grade 1-7 then fletcher high school from form 1 to form 6. At Fletcher high that is when he realised his leadership abilities being a member of the Toastmasters International club and the Scripture Union. The passionate young man further proceeded to Harare Institute of Technology in 2023 to pursue his undergraduate degree in Radiography. As of now he serves as the Class representative , a School representative of the school of Allied Health Sciences , Chairman of the O3plus UNESCO project , secretary of the Students Representative Assembly, Vice president of the Student Radiographers Association of Zimbabwe . More over he is also a trained peer educator, peer counsellor and a drug and substance abuse champion.
