Millennium Fellowship Project: Burundi Talks

Burundi Talks is a youth-led platform that gives young Burundians a space to discuss the country’s most pressing challenges. We believe in the power of dialogue to spark critical thinking and inspire practical solutions.
Burundi Talks was founded to provide a space for young Burundians to discuss all issues that pertain to the development of our country. Burundi is currently facing a lot of economic and political challenges, from fuel disparity to excessive inflation, and recognizing the importance of our generation in addressing these issues, we are strongly convinced that open and insightful discussions can spark critical thinking and inspire innovative solutions. Our main goal is to attract as many young Burundians as possible. Burundi Talks is not only a space for experienced debaters. There are so many young Burundians who care deeply about the country but are confused about where to start or how to get involved. This platform is for all of them.
Currently, our sessions take place every other week, featuring six young Burundian panelists who discuss a topic selected by our research team. The first week is dedicated to choosing and studying the topic, confirming panelists, training the host, and securing equipment. The second week is spent finalizing details and filming on Saturday. During the third week, we edit and release the recorded discussion to our audience.
Success to us will mean more young people feeling informed, empowered, and actively engaged in Burundi’s future.
