" I believe mental health is the foundation of a thriving society. My work is driven by a vision of accessible, stigma-free support for all, especially students navigating complex challenges. The Millennium Fellowship offers a unique space to collaborate, refine my ideas, and translate them into sustainable impact. Through this experience, I am excited to strengthen my ability to design innovative, community-centered solutions that foster well-being and align with the SDGs. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: The MindSpace Project

The Mindspace Project is a student-led mental health initiative at the University of Ibadan, designed to make mental well-being accessible, relatable, and stigma-free. Through peer-to-peer counselling, creative activities, awareness campaigns, and cozy community events, we aim to help students manage stress, anxiety, and depression in ways that feel natural and supportive. Mindspace is where conversations replace lectures, comfort replaces stigma, and every student can find a safe corner to breathe, share, and heal. Measurable goals include;
1. Peer-to-Peer Counselling: Train 10 student volunteer counsellors and provide guided support to at least 20 students through one-on-one sessions.
2. Resource Distribution: Reach 100+ students with curated coping guides, stress management tips, and mental health resources.
3. Awareness Campaign: Distribute 50+ fliers, banners, and digital content, increasing campus-wide visibility of mental health support.
4. Signature Event – “The Mindspace”: Host one major interactive wellness event with at least 100 student participants engaging in creative stress relief, peer bonding, and relaxation activities.
5. Sustainability: Establish partnerships with organisations like EPNG and ASIDO Campus Network to ensure the continuity of peer-to-peer support and awareness efforts beyond 2025.
