UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT RUTH AYOMIDE AFESOJAYE, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2025.
University of Ibadan | Ibadan, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3, SDG 5 & UNAI 3

" Two heads are better than one, they say. Being a Millennium Fellow affords me the platform to connect with like-minded individuals to actualize projects on specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which I have always loved. This fellowship will also provide mentorship opportunities for me, enabling me to have access to experts in this field. Finally, I am excited to widen my horizon through this fellowship. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Awareness Creation of SDGs
Creation of Awareness on SDGs is my MCN project in which I focused on SDG3 and by extension, SDG5. I created awareness on the dangers of FGM and it being void of any advantages. I went to Abadina College, with other fellows to discuss this, reaching about 100 secondary students. Also, I went to different rooms in my hostel of over 1500 students, reaching over 50 female students. I am positive that my project convinced a large number of them to desist from FGM in all forms.
