United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: Plastics Smart Generation

Plastics Smart Generation (P.S.G) is a group project led by seven Millennium Campus Network Fellows University of Ibadan Cohort A that aims to solve challenges facing SDG 12 in relation to SDG 14, SDG 13, SDG 17, and SDG 4. The alarming rate of wrong plastic waste disposal in our community is a growing issue, the objectives of this initiative is to host an awareness program that aims to sensitize One Hundred and Eighty outgoing Students at a secondary school in Ibadan, Orogun Grammar School, educating them with problem solving skills and critical skills on plastic waste management and environment sustainability on the 14th Of November, 2025. The concept of this project is to promote social, environmental and economic sustainability which includes forming a student plastic club, holding a creative plastic reuse competition with prizes, and organizing a school clean-up.

About the Millennium Fellow

Usunobun Osemhengbe Jane is a final-year student of Communication and Language Arts at the University of Ibadan. She is passionate about impacting lives and empowering young people to become the best versions of themselves. Guided by her mantra, “there is always a way out,” she actively engages in problem-solving initiatives and meaningful conversations that inspire growth. Jane enjoys reading, learning, and exchanging transformative ideas, reflecting her commitment to knowledge sharing and personal development. She aspires to become an effective communicator and a renowned researcher.
