" “Leadership and connection, shaped by my experiences in student governance and community initiatives at IIT Kharagpur, fuel my passion for creating inclusive spaces and solving real-world problems. The Millennium Fellowship offers the platform and network to scale these efforts, align them with the UNAI principles and SDGs, and turn campus-led change into lasting social impact for wider communities.” "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Echoes of Change: Student Voices

At IIT Kharagpur, I’i've often seen that while students have excellent ideas for improving campus life or addressing social issues, there’s a significant disconnect when it comes to translating those ideas into action—especially in collaboration with student leaders or the administration. Bridging Campus Voices is an initiative designed to close that gap. The project establishes a structured yet open forum—first offline and eventually hybrid in approach—in which decision-makers and students can meaningfully interact with each other. By moderated forums, mass surveys, and storytelling exhibitions, we seek to elicit varied views and opinions, particularly those that otherwise tend to remain muted in mainstream venues. It's not about gathering feedback; it's about building a participatory culture that respects every voice, from the freshman to the senior. In curating and sharing student experiences, issues, and solutions in ways that are understandable and actionable, the initiative is looking to shape decision-making at the Technology Students' Gymkhana level as well as institution-wide. In the end, Bridging Campus Voices is about building a campus culture that's more inclusive, compassionate, and responsive—where ideas aren't just ideas, but become actual, community-led change.
