Millennium Fellowship Project: EcoSpark
The core idea about the project is to make more people understand that climate change is real and that small everyday actions can make a big difference. Change in habits, small everyday actions like using public transport, recycling, and saving energy can all help. This project will leverage fun and engaging content, challenges and teamwork with colleges and schools to get more people involved and help them build lasting eco-friendly habits. The Social Media Campaign is briefly divided into three main segments: 1. Themes: Selecting specific themes related to climate change and sustainability like Eco-friendly hacks (daily tips to reduce waste, save energy, and cut carbon footprint.), Did you know? (Fun facts about climate change to increase awareness)., Eco Challenge (Weekly challenges like NoPlastic, CycleToSave etc..) 2. Engagement: Polls and Q&A sessions to answer eco-related questions. Followers and audience to share reels about their weekly challenges and green actions to develop a sense of community feeling. 3. Collaboration: Collaborate with schools and colleges to host eco-events and online challenges. Collaborate with eco friendly startups and relevant companies to host podcasts and talks for professional sense of opinion.
About the Millennium Fellow
Venu Gopal Raj is a undergraduate student at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras and a Millennium Fellow for the Class of 2025. Passionate about sustainability and climate action, he founded EcoSpark to raise awareness about climate change through engaging social media campaigns, interactive challenges, and collaborations with schools, colleges, and eco-friendly startups. Drawing on creativity and community-building, he aims to inspire lasting eco-friendly habits in everyday life. Beyond his project, he aspires to drive large-scale initiatives that blend innovation, education, and grassroots participation.
