" "A deep passion and optimism are all one needs to change the world. For most of us, desperate to see our livelihoods improve, we don't even know where to start and that's okay. By initially utilising organisations like the Millennium Fellowship, we best channel our desire to change the world for the better; we start to become custodians of our Earth." "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Forest and Nature Defense Union (FNDU)
Advertise a series of nature walks amongst multiple university campuses to help university students make more friends. In addition, they will also be collecting litter in the park, sorting them into the right bins, and other acts of community service.
We had one walk which took place from Hyde park to Rembrandt gardens. We collected and sorted litter in the form of: cans, paper cups, plastic bags and bottles, and glass shards and bottles. During the event it was clear that people could connect through community service, which was one of the main goals of the project. While the smaller group size made the socialising more intimate, it was harder to quantity how much benefit the single event had on the environment; frequent, consistent walks lead to quantifiable benefit to the environments affected.
