Millennium Fellowship Project: KanchDrishti

KanchDrishti (Glass Vision) is an independent, sustainability-driven initiative aimed at reducing glass waste and promoting circular resource use through innovative recycling solutions. The project addresses the growing problem of non-biodegradable glass waste by collecting discarded glass bottles and other glass materials and transforming them into practical construction resources such as glass sand and decorative tiles.
The initiative seeks to engage local communities and waste generators to encourage responsible disposal practices and greater awareness about sustainable material management. Through its circular model, KanchDrishti enables processed glass to be reused in applications such as sandbags and even reintroduced into manufacturing processes for new glass products thereby extending the life cycle of glass and minimizing landfill dependency.
During the implementation period, KanchDrishti focuses on establishing collection channels, processing glass waste into usable materials, and conducting awareness-driven outreach to promote environmentally responsible behaviour. Through these efforts, the project aims to contribute to cleaner communities, reduced environmental burden, and a more sustainable approach to construction and material reuse.
