UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT HRISHIJA NANDA GAIN, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2025.
Independent University Bangladesh | Dhaka, Bangladesh | Advancing SDG 13 & UNAI 9

" The Millennium Fellowship feels like a dream come true for me. I am on a path to transform my small-scale ideas into practical action. While I may lack experience in many areas, I remain steadfast in my goals. Advancing and protecting the environment, addressing climate change, and promoting sustainability through personal initiatives has often seemed nearly impossible for me. In this context, the Fellowship represents a beacon of hope.
Through this program, I will be able to effectively combine my knowledge, creativity, and skills. It will help me progress toward my goals in a focused and meaningful way. Moreover, it will open avenues for me to elevate environmental and socio-economic development from the ground up and view sustainability as an integral part of the global community, aligning closely with the UN’s principles and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Climate Change, Sustainability in Southern Bangladesh
My Millennium Fellowship project focuses on climate change and sustainability in Khulna and the southern region of Bangladesh.
In Khulna, located near the Sundarbans, rapid industrialization is putting the Sundarbans, nearby rivers, wildlife, agricultural systems, the environment, and people’s livelihoods at risk. My project aims to identify these challenges and take local initiatives while acting as a global citizen. The goal is to align these efforts with the SDG goals of Climate Action and Sustainability.
