Millennium Fellowship Project: Empowering Out-of-School Youth Literacy

The Literacy for All initiative addresses the critical gap in functional literacy and essential life skills for out-of-school youth in Bangladesh. Our initial outreach and survey focused on districts including Dhaka, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Barishal, Khagrachhari, Bogura, Rangpur, and Dinajpur. The project is driven by the fact that many youth, despite some formal education (the highest level completed by surveyed respondents was most frequently HSC and Undergraduate ), still lack the practical skills needed for modern employment. Our survey data highlights a strong demand for skills like Communication, Literacy, Life Skills, and MS Office. Our goal is to empower these youth with targeted, accessible training, transforming them from job-seekers to economically active members of society. We aim to break the cycle of unemployment and limited opportunity by enhancing their job prospects and daily life through practical education.
