Millennium Fellowship Project: NEER - Nurturing Earth's Essential Resources
WHAT IS PROJECT NEER ??
NEER- Nurturing Earth's Essential Resource It is a student led initiative aimed at addressing water conservation, waterborne diseases and lack of awareness around sustainable water use, especially in urban cities like Bengaluru. Despite receiving
significant rainfall, Bengaluru faces rapid groundwater depletion due to unchecked. Urbanization and the loss of traditional water recharge systems. At the same time, waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid are rising because of poor water quality and Sanitation.
About the Millennium Fellow
Disha Makkar is young and competitive student who is studying in Jain deemed to be University in India. She was born and brought up in kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. She has been passionate about the problem of inequality, crisis and injustice faced by the people. This passion has been there in her due to her experiences in her high school years. She plans to move forward with the same enthusiasm and leadership in the future . Disha aims to be professional in advancing her contribution in the development of the United Nations Sustainable Goals.
