United Nations Academic Impact and MCN are proud to partner on the Millennium Fellowship. This year, 60,000+ young leaders applied to join the Class of 2025 on 7,000+ campuses across 170 nations. 290+ campuses worldwide (less than 5%) were selected to host the 4,500+ Millennium Fellows.

Millennium Fellowship Project: NEER - Nurturing Earth's Essential Resources

WHAT IS PROJECT NEER ??
NEER- Nurturing Earth's Essential Resource It is a student led initiative aimed at addressing water conservation, waterborne diseases and lack of awareness around sustainable water use, especially in urban cities like Bengaluru. Despite receiving
significant rainfall, Bengaluru faces rapid groundwater depletion due to unchecked. Urbanization and the loss of traditional water recharge systems. At the same time, waterborne diseases like cholera and typhoid are rising because of poor water quality and Sanitation.

About the Millennium Fellow

Nirnayak Talukdar is an undergraduate learner who is extremely passionate about psychology and human resource management who seeks various opportunities to upgrade his skills and contribute to the society meaningfully. He is an individual who carries a dynamic personality, seeks for growth both personally and professionally. He prefers to work in an environment which supports encouragement and freedom to think out of the box and create a new and diligent work out it. Nirnayak carries a leadership persona within himself which makes him a strategic and visionary thinker. He carries responsibility with outmost importance and makes sure that every work he does is set up to the mark and expectations. Apart from this, he keeps interest in geopolitics and participating in conferences like Model United Nations (MUN), which is an educational simulation of United Nations discussing on various prevailing and past global issues. This makes him a competent individual for public speaking, be a mediator, and holding a solid skill on documentation. He also keeps interest in writing various informative and blog-like contents on platform like Medium. Lastly, Nirnayak aspires to grow and learn with self-esteem and confidence to upgrade himself and the contribute to the society for welfare.
