Jahangirnagar University | Dhaka, Bangladesh | Advancing SDG 4, SDG 13 & UNAI 6

" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it will provide me with the proper support to execute my idea. I want to provide education to underprivileged, rootless children, along with an initiative to clean our Jahangirnagar University campus. Through this project, I hope to create a more sustainable way to achieve these goals. The Millennium Fellowship will connect me with potential change makers and help me sharpen my solutions. I believe every person has the right to education and a clean environment. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Educating Underprivileged Children & Clean environment
We want to help underprivileged, rootless children by educating them. We will try to help those children who are begging or selling small items like tea and biscuits on the Jahangirnagar University campus, earning barely enough to support them. Many children suffer from malnutrition and many have no access to education. So we have decided to provide them with basic education while also providing them with food. Along with providing them with essential education, we will supply books, learning materials, and guidance to help them. Additionally, we want to instill a sense of responsibility toward the environment. Since these children often sell snacks wrapped in plastic, we will teach them how waste harms our environment and encourage them to dispose of it properly. We will set up waste bins around the campus and motivate them to use them, helping keep the environment clean while raising awareness.
